The Time Capsule
The Time Capsule
The five items that I would like to put in the time capsule to reflect who I am would be a CD of the music I like because there wouldn’t be the same music in 100 years, if there is any at all. I think the CD would be a good idea because the music you listen to reflects your personality and the type of person you are.
Another item would be a picture of our cars because they will probably be hovering in 100 years if technology keeps going like it is now. I would also put in a writing piece describing what it was like to live where I do and the people here; good and bad.
My final two items include my laptop because I am always on it and anything on it would be all about my life. Last is a my favorite books, because I loved to read!

Five ways to curse without cursing.
Five Ways to curse without cursing
We all curse at some point in our life, but some do it more productively than others. Some use better words to express their anger. It doesn’t matter whether it’s cursing or just a fun word, it does the same thing.
There is Son of a business man. This is another way to say Son of a b****. I’ve heard many people saying it but never actually used it. I think it is a very creative
way to not offend people as much and just laugh about it, others may see it differently.
Shut the front door is a nice way to say Shut the f*** up. I don’t use it a lot but my friends do. It is a good way to say it and it will sometimes give you a good laugh too. I think it’s kind of stupid but others like to use it.
This is a kinder way to say What the F***. This is not a common one, but is a good way to stop swearing. In my opinion this one is kind of stupid too.
“You can go to Halifax” is another way to say you can go to hell. I really don’t think hell is a bad word but there are some people who get offended by it. So here is a better way to say it.
This is what the internet says to use to cuss at kid. It’s
actually one of my favorites because batch actually sounds
like the intentional word itself.

Editing exercise
So, taking a page out of Jem and Scout
Finches books, his friends dare him to go inside of the mystery mans house and
bring something out with him to prove that he was actually in there.
Jamal is a very talented writer and a gifted
basketball player and ends up going to a private school who takes him in a
basketball scholar ship and this is where people learn of his talented writing
ability, but this is all after being taken in as a somewhat student of the
famous writer William Forrester, after being dared to enter the apartment of
William Forrester know by the boys as “The Window” because he is always
standing in his window watching the birds as we find out later on.
Jamal was dared to go into the old man’s
apartment; the old who is always looking out the window.
The movie finding forester was a very well
done movie, the actors matched the characters in the movie really well.
In my opinion the movie was complete success.
The story alone was unique and intriguing enough to keep interest.
The setting shows the struggle that both
Jamal and William are faced respectively faced with, such as self acceptance,
overcoming your fears, and doing what you love.
The quality of the film was good , i felt
there could of been more colors rather then always seeming to be in the dark
throughout the movie.
The protrayed their characters very well, and
I believe that they did an excellent job at presenting the theme of family.
For example; William assists Jamal with his
writing skills and Jamal helps William get out of his house more to live his
life.
This story is about a black boy who lives in
the Bronx in New York this boy’s name is Jamal.
If I had to compare this movie with another
movie I would compare it to the blind side because the both main characters
have the same characteristics almost, especially the sport talents and they
both get scholarships and were able to play in the big leagues as they got
older.
Jamal Wallace is a played by Rob Brown, his
character plays a 16 year old boy who plays basketball and is a fantastic
writer and who just gets by in school but did exceptionally well on his state
exam.
This is my favorite quote in the movie
because it makes you laugh at the first but that the end it leaves you really
thinking.
I didn't really enjoy this movie because I'm
not into movies about writing or about basketball, but if you like them types
of movies then i would recommend you watch it.
The boys dare Jamal to go up to the mans
appartment and bring something back, so Jamal heads up, and ends up bickering
with he man.
Both of the unsuspected family members both
are lack on social skills and needed someone to help them regain them so they
can get back out in the world.

Finding Forrester movie review
Finding Forrester
The director of Finding Forrester is Gus Van Sant and the film was written by Mike Rich. The main actors in Finding Forrester are Sean Connery (William Forrester), Rob Brown (Jamal Wallace) and F. Murray Abraham (Professor Robert Crawford). These characters do an amazing job in the movie and other movies they were in.
The movie Finding Forrester is a great example of how the smallest action of kindness and friendship can change a person’s life and does a great job at showing it. Jamal was dared to go into the old man’s apartment; the old man who is always looking out the window. He goes in and is frightened by the man. Jamal runs out the door and leaves his book bag behind. The next day when Jamal is done playing basketball the man (William) drops his book bag from the window. Jamal takes out his journals and realizes that William has corrected and pinpointed good and bad details in them. He goes back looking for him to read more of his writing, but the man only says, “Why don’t you write me a 5000 word paper on why you will stay the f*** out of my house.” Jamal does just that, he goes home and writes the paper and takes it to him. When Jamal gets accepted into a new school he realizes that the author they are studying is none other than the man who he was forming a friendship with. After ALL that the friendship sticks.
This movie reminds me a lot of To Kill a Mockingbird. William Forrester is always in his house and never out when there is people around. In both the kids/teens try to see into the house to see what both men are up to and get caught. Also the men, Boo (To Kill a Mockingbird) and William (Finding Forrester) end up coming out, Boo, because the kids are in danger and William, because he forms a new friendship with Jamal and trusts him.
An element in this movie that was well worked with is, conflict. These elements are well because conflict is between Jamal and Mr. Crawford. Mr. Crawford tries to get Jamal in trouble because he says his writing isn’t his.
The message of this film is, don’t judge a book by its cover, meaning that Jamal and his friends judge William on what they hear about him and don’t bother to try to learn otherwise. Like when he is looking out the window, they think he is watching them, when he is really just looking at the birds. I feel the message was delivered well to the audience when Jamal finally gets to know William and realizes ALL his assumptions were wrong.

House of Wax, review of a review.
House of Wax
I chose the movie review ”House of Wax” because it tells about the movie with out spoiling the end. Also it captures the best points of the movie without ruining it. It tells you what the movie will be about but does not tell you everything which leaves you wondering what is going to happen.
The movie review pinpoints ONE main element of a film that I like. Strong characters, Jared Padalecki, Chad Michael Murray AND Elisha Cuthbert.

Descriptive writing. 10G
Three years ago I made the biggest mistake of my life. I dropped out of school. It was so hard and boring, I wanted to get out and start a whole new and better future for myself, I didn’t understand that's what school was doing. I still see my friends at the mall where I work, they are laughing a joking going into store after store trying on clothes. I remember when that was me... I would be laughing and talking with my friends, going from store to store with them trying on loads of clothes and just leaving them there, but now I’m the one cleaning up after them.
School seemed like the hardest thing back then. I just needed to get out. I realize now that school was just the beginning of a whole new world. I would be in grade 12 now and about to graduate, I didn’t realize it would be done in such a short period of time. I want to go back, but I really don’t want to show my face there again.
